Mr. Cline retired after 31 years as a technical manager for bookbinding adhesives and is familiar with the typical adhesive compositions that will be best for the bookbinding industry.



Lanco Adhesives is a master distributor of National Starch adhesives to the packaging, converting, structural, and specialty adhesive users. Lanco is located in Freehold, New Jersey and serve the Mid Atlantic region from Connecticut to Virginia. They specialize in LTL shipments and provide local service to customers that National Starch is unable to cover normally.

Mr. Cline is currently consulting for Lanco Adhesives and providing service for many bookbinders in the local area.

Mr. Cline has worked closely with Kolbus personnel both in starting new applications, as well as assisting in fine tuning existing systems from an adhesive point of view. He is familiar with the various hard cover binding lines as well as the perfect binding systems. He has been instrumental in starting up systems with PUR for difficult binding operations.


Experience with Muller Martini production systems in graphic arts operations around the world is the basis for know-how in new developments, efficient manufacturing, unique applications, innovative marketing, as well as professional training and service support.

Mr. Cline has worked closely with Martini in many areas. The Otabind and Repkover systems are two of the major areas of expertise as well as PUR for their many binders.


With 24,000 employees in over 170 countries the company manufactures sheetfed and web offset presses, prepress units, and machines for cutting, folding and binding publications. Also it develops and manufactures black-and-white digital printing presses and high-performance copiers.

Mr. Cline has been involved with the new Magnabond system that is being marketed by Heidelberg for magazine binding. This system uses liquid adhesives, as well as hot melts and is capable of binding magazines up to 40,000 per hour.


Crathern Machinery Group is the world leader in the production of machinery for the manufacturing of rigid and transparent plastic boxes, photo album, photo album pages, game boards, puzzles, sample boards, binders, hard book covers, slipcases, point-of-purchase displays, and label laminated products. We offer a range of machinery from semi-automatic sheet fed machines through high-speed roll fed systems. Our systems are modular, so if components are needed immediately they can be delivered while other components can be added easily at a later time. We also custom design systems specifically for product line applications. At Crathern Machinery Group we may manufacture machines, but we specialize in helping our customers get the most from them.

Mr. Cline has worked with Crathern to modify case making systems to use hot melts instead of animal glue. This modification will provide cases that are not warped and that can be used immediately.
